FUNDING for FEATHERS

The Feather Fund NOLA was initiated to support the purchase of authentic ostrich feathers for production of the tribes' of Louisiana Big Chief suit, which is a reverent display of colors, craftsmanship, and tradition. These suits are costly to produce and take thousands of manhours to sew and bead. We recognize the financial burden that suit-making can have on our local families. Through The Feather Fund NOLA we raise funding, through corporate sponsors and from the profit sharing function of Louisiana Culture & Curatives, to provide suit materials and decorative items for the sewing and construction of Aboriginal Indian suits. Our goal is to raise $1 million each year!

Support the youth of New Orleans is another major focus and area of passion of our organization. The Feather Fund will sponsor programming and support to encourage education, pride of community, and to stop the cycles of poverty and crime in our neighborhoods.
